The letter you mention is IB form BF220B, which you should have given to your employer to say that they are not liable to pay you SSP.
Reclaim IB by ring 08000 556688 and asking for form SC1(RR), explaining that you last claimed IB less than 12 weeks ago. The SC1 (RR) is a rapid reclaim form, and you will go onto the same rate of IB.
You'll need to ask your GP for a sick note and send it with the form SC1 (RR).
I would not recommend leaving your job.0 -
the form i have says i am to keep this form , if you have to claim sick pay then show it to your employer, it does not say give it to my employer...
why do you recomend not leaving my job ??
i can bearly walk some days as i have 4 disks missing in my back which causes lots of oain and discomfort !!0 -
Don't leave your job, stay off sick. Your condition may improve or they may be able to make adaptations to your workplace/hours so you can do your job again.

my condition as not inproved in 6 years, and i only work 16 hours so i cant really do less hours otherwise i dont get help with childcare.
i am a cleaner so not really alot the can do to help woith adaptions...
if i go off sick will i automatically go back onto my incapacity benefit ??0 -
As long as your circumstances have not changed since the last time you claimed, yes, you can go straight back on. You will however need to show your employer the BF220 in order for them to be able to complete the SSP1 correctly. I agree, don't quit if you don't have to but then again that is down to your and your employer. Your employer cannot legally automatically end your employment purely down to your sickness but if you are on probation then your attendance could be held against you if you were to go off sick.0

if i just quit can i go back on ib ??
or do i need my employer to end my employment with them ??0 -
a family member did the same thing and as far as i know if you quit you can go back on IB but you will need to get sick notes and send them in until they send you out the application form and either accept or decline your claim.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j
