Driving instructor licence fees.

As a driving instructor we pay £300 every 4 years to remain on the instructors register.
Now because of the current situation all driving instructors are not working adhering to government guidelines.
I have enquired with dvsa to see if there will be an extension to our registrations (similar to what dvla have done with mot’s ) . There response was an emphatic no. I feel this is so unfair when most other organisations are bending over backwards to help people out.
surely a 3 or 4 month extension to our instructor licences would help us all out

I think you might need to hold off and wait to see how long these lock downs last. If they go over a year then you will probably see something forthcoming.
I am not sure what the rule is on your business but I don't think the government has ruled you must cease operating. Obviously you should not be operating because of the guidelines and you are a responsible person but without the key detail of being ordered to stop I doubt DVLA will offer you any extensions.

So many people have suffered immense loss due to this pandemic and at the moment, as things stand, you might just need to consider it a cost you need to bear.

At the moment it has cost you less then £10 so I would not be worrying until it went on for a long time.
