My employer doing right ?

Hi, I work for a billion pound world wide company within retail and as of today (21st of April) I have been told that I am being paid my extra 20% of my wage on top of the 80% provided by furlough. Great!
However this is after being forced to take two weeks holiday after my work place closed due to COVID. My company have also told me that if I or anyone else within the company is to leave before the end of 2020 that they will demand the 20% back. My HR stand by this but I would be interested to know if they have the right to do this. I am looking to leave my job role for unrelated issues but as money is tight I fear that I would not be able to in the future.
Regards
James

Was this in a furloughing document that you agreed to?0

Every company has own rules. If you quit the job then you would return 20%.-1

I would have thought since the 20% is an optional payment that they can’t claim back from the government then they might be able to recoup the extra money, you will really need to refer to the original furlough document you should have been provided which you agreed too.
In essence at this point they are showing some generosity in ensuring you are not losing out currently, they are by adding the clause ensuring some loyalty to them going forward...0
