One person working and one self employed unable to work under Same household

Hi I am just wondering if anyone has been in the same position. I am still able to work and make around £2200 a month. My partner runs his own business which can't function due to covid 19. So we have done a joint universal claim. But it has come back as being entitled to £0. Is this due to me earning too much? Only my wage alone does not cover out household and his business fees etc so we are struggling. And are still unsure if we will be entitled to the 80% self employed in June. Due to my partner has never contributed to tax and national insurance as he hasnt earnt enough over the last 4 years since he was established. Will this also effect us?

UC is based on monthly earnings, unlike tax credits where is was yearly earnings. So, yes it's most likely because earnings are too high to be eligible, unless of course you have savings/capital of more than £16,000 and then you would be disregarded because of this.Self employed grant information here. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-the-coronavirus-covid-19-self-employment-income-support-scheme
