Mortgage protection and self employed

Hi, I have applied for a mortgage holiday but my partner is newly self employed so we only qualify for job seekers to replace his income. We could really use our mortgage protection payment for unemployment towards household bills but do know if we can still claim mortgage protection when on a mortgage holiday?

It will depend on the terms of the policy, but I'd be surprised if they paid you out for not paying the mortgage.0
