Year 13 UC claim?

Hi all, I’m new to this but was wondering if my Y13 child can now make a claim for UC? He is no longer in education due to schools and exams being cancelled and can’t get a local job in retail or hospitality industry as anticipated for his summer months. He is awaiting to go to uni in September/ January/whenever it may happen!! Is he now able to make a claim for UC? We are really short in this household as my husband’s former company has not agreed to furlough him, despite being made redundant after 28th Feb and we still have to pay for my daughter’s student accommodation for another couple of months so any extra to the household income would be welcome, even if it is only money that goes directly to my son and is his to do with as he wishes. Any sensible comments appreciated!
