Rateable value & Grant

Hi
i own a fitness studio in Kent, my rateable value is listed as £15,112
but unfortunately they have rounded it down to £15,000 at the bottom of the page
my local council have stated that as the computer said £15k
and the government guidelines list £15,001 or above I’m only entitled to the £10k grant not the £25k
could you advise on which direction to take ? This feels so unfair and is very distressing in these times
regards

You say they have rounded down the rateable value at the bottom of the page. What do they describe the £15,112 as? What do they describe the £15,000 as? I would certainly fight them on this, but there appears to be no mechanism of appeal. You should study:

and

The total calculation for space per M2 within my fitness studio equals £15,112
created by the valuation service 2017
at the time I wasn’t happy as I found out I was paying more then other gyms in the surrounding towns
I got a company in to fight in ( no win no fee ) and they outlined the measurements and costings were fair and I couldn’t get a reduction or any small business rates relief
now 3 years or so on I find that at the bottom of the valuation calculation the figure turns from £15,112 to £15,000 ( rounded down ) in brackets
so no £25k grant
i have now written to my local MP and also instagrammed MP Rishi Sunak, it’s a long shot but he did say he was doing everything for small businesses0 -
It seems that the entry in the rating list will be £15,000 then, so I fear you won't get anywhere.0
