I don't know what you mean by "running a pub off a tenant"?
You needed to be self employed before 6 April 2019 to be eligible for the self employed grant.
You needed to be on the rating list at 11 March 2020 to qualify for the property based grants.
If you were employed at 28 February 2020 you could ask your ex-employer to rehire and furlough you, but they don't have to do it.

Sorry I mean renting off a landlord my heads all over the place0

That makes sense. When did you start renting it? I take it from your OP that you will be responsible for the rates, but there is the issue of being on the rating list at 11 March 2020. The detailed guidance for the grant is at:

The issue about the rating list is covered in paragraphs 32 to 42.0
