I read a news report saying that MPs are getting an extra £10k allowance for working from home.
Is this true?

I've heard misleading things.
I've heard yes they are but they apparently somewhere else on social media they said it was for government staff not MPs.
But another article states yes MPs to be able to claim 10k expenses. Up to.0 -

I've got to say I'm pretty shocked by this. In it together, really?
MPs offered £10,000 for coronavirus office costs

Seems fair enough, not as if they are getting an extra £10k in salary is it? The OP needs to tone the outrage down a bit.2

It is an increase on the limit they can claim as expenses -- don't confuse this by thinking they are getting £10k pa as cash-in-hand. It's not a pay rise.
At the moment MPs can claim up to £26,050 pa which each MP then uses to pay for office equipment etc. This raise will reflect the additional costs they may incur to allow them and their staff to work from home and will be reimbursed based on invoices for money they pay to buy the equipment.
However, MP expenses are an historically murky subject. There have been many MPs busted for dubious expense claims and forced to repay it. As always, there will be MPs looking to maximise their entitlements as far as they can under the rules.
That's part and parcel of the nature of the system.1 -
I got it from a Russian news site, https://www.rt.com/uk/485400-mp-extra-salary-working-home/They were the first to report the PM was in hospital, whilst it was still being denied here.

Our news stations have their own agenda, as do those in other countries; I've also looked at CNN and The Japanese Times for different global perspectives.

BTW: Anyone curious about what this increase in entitlement is for and the rules on how it can be used, here is some interesting and factual reading from the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority: https://www.theipsa.org.uk/news/coronavirus-guidance/coronavirus-faqs/2
