no furlough but offered 3 months unpaid leave

i work in an online warehouse and as such considered a key worker . had a brief and we were told that if we had vulnerable family we were
living with we could take up to 3 months unpaid leave . furlough could not be given . is this right ?

Absolutely correct.
Furlough is designed to protect jobs that are otherwise at risk of redundancy. They didn’t even have to offer the period of leave to you as it’s not yourself
with the condition.0
