Hi does anyone know if there’s any support available or further due for people who went self employed this financial year other than universal credits (May 2019)? My previous employer thought they might be able to furloe me but as I switched from employed to self employed with them in May 2019, this doesn’t apply? Tax credits is less than £300 which only covers some bills!! Thanks

    Tax credits?
There are no new claims for working tax credits anymore.
    Do you mean Universal Credit?
Have you tried using one of the benefits calculators?

I think OP means that they are claiming tax credits. You need to be careful about whether to move to UC, with its means testing and (temporarily suspended) minimum income floor. You can't go back to tax credits once you make a claim for UC. There is nothing else apart from mortgage breaks and council tax reduction.
