Universal Credit - Unfairness in the system

If working as an employee and in a couple you only have to meet the AET £541 a month between both of you before job centre leave you alone and you are entitled to your full claim.
but when working as self employed they have strict conditions where you have to meet the a lot higher CET £1220 each month to be entitled to your full amount?
Why is there such as a massive difference between the two? I know the government doesn't really like self employed people and believe most are just fiddling their accounts anyway but surely if a self employed person was declaring earning above the AET each month then they should be treated same as the employed person.
This smacks of blatant discrimination to me.

If eveyone could get full benefits for limited income, we would all do it.
The idea is that your business is viable and you won't need benefits or else everyone would work the minimum to get the maximum benefits.

If that is the case then why not force the employed to meet the CET aswell then instead of just being allowed to work 'the minimum for maximum benefits'?

To be fair, some of us have been pointing out for around a decade that Universal Credit is broken by design. The intention appears to be to cause as much misery as possible to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Now several hundred thousand people are finding this out first hand. I hope people remember when they next come to vote.
