Barclaycard reintroduce "user friendly" Rewards card - no foreign ATM fees for currency withdrawals

  • I have No foreign currency fees with my Nationwide flex-plus. It does come in very useful. When I went to Italy last October I just used my card everywhere. Normally the transaction fee alone can be £4 with withdrawing cash from ATM.
That's not a credit card though and it costs £13 per month to maintain.

I've recently got mine but not by applying as such. I had a bog standard Barclaycard without any benefits which I wasn't using and they offered to swap it to this one which I did. Took a while for the exchange to go through but they gave me £20 compensation when I asked (didn't complain) how the process was going.
Have you ever paid any interest on the old card?
I just wonder if customers who always pay off the balance in full each month are attractive to them.
Nope, never paid them a penny in interest. Took the card to use a 0% transfer offer which unusually had no transfer fee and paid it off in full after the 2 yr period (also paid the min each month en-route).

When this card was flagged up recently for applications there was no indication of a time expiry on the fee free foreign currency ATM deal - when I checked my account online it indicates 2023.
No big deal, but it would have been appropriate to highlight that condition.

Hopefully we'll be travelling again by then.

Barclaycard were only allowing one barclaycard per person so in the past you had to cancel the barclaycard you had and they wanted you to wait six months to get the travelcard .
It may have changed now ?

I believe this is still the same.  I was considering getting a card to cover when I max out the £100 aqua cash back - but as I only cancelled my old card in Feb I will need to wait.
