Annual Insurance Policy due to expire - should I renew or is it too late?

We are a family of four.  We buy an annual travel insurance which Is due to expire at Easter.  I am due to fly solo at Easter to Spain to see a friend.  In addition, we are due to travel as a family in July to Spain with flights and Airbnb purchased separately (we usually do a package, but are trying something different this year!).

If our flights are cancelled, are we likely to be covered by a new policy, given the COVID-19 situation?  At the time of purchase, we were covered by the current policy, so would this extend?  (I’m guessing the answer to that is a resounding no!!).

I’m worried that we will lose everything...
