Transfer of money to wrong account. How to proceed?

Hi,
Recently i transferred money to the wrong account (last two digits of account number entered wrong) from Lloyds to Natwest. I told them a two days later after realising and they tried to get Natwest to contact the person but they never responded within the 20 day period. Honestly dont know how i managed to mess up so badly but it was late at night and done in a rush.
Where do i go from here? I was told by Lloyds to send a letter to them so they can provide me with the account holders information so i can personally try and get in contact with them. I dont want to give up, i did briefly look at legal action/reporting to the police and i think i read since its not over £500 it would only cost £35 in court fees.
Can anyone provide me with clear instructions or the best way to go about this?
Thanks

Keep your fingers crossed - (a) that the account number you used - in which case it will bounce back; (b) if it is correct then that the account holder is honest and returns it to your bank. If (b) if the account holder is not honest and keeps it - byebye your money.
PS Your bank won't give you the other account holders details - GDPR.

It is past the 20 day period so highly doubt it will bounce back. I understand there are data protection but i was told by Lloyds to send a letter to request for their personal details however effective that may be.Robin9 said:Keep your fingers crossed - (a) that the account number you used - in which case it will bounce back; (b) if it is correct then that the account holder is honest and returns it to your bank. The £35 court fee sounds like the amount to take it to small claims, but you can only do that if you know the other person's name and address. You won't get this due to data protection, unless you get a court order to compel Nat West to release it to you and unfortunately this would probably cost thousands.

If bank won't give you the names, then may have to go to police. As if the recipient spends the cash its theft.0
