Website and Domain-Go Daddy?

I need to set up a one page website just to showcase my business. Nothing elaborate, just what services I offer and a little about me along with contact information. I would hope to be able to direct traffic to my website. Looked at Go Daddy and there ecommerce and domain package, was coming out at about £150. Is this about right? Any better recommendations?

I use 50webs (no idea if they are the cheapest) but for about 1/3rd of what you quoted i get
to host 10 websites.
Are you selling from the site? If not you dont need the ecommerce package. Thats if you want an
online store.

Would go daddy be good at directing traffic to my site, or is that not part of the package?0

No. Unless your site comes up on google nobody will know its there unless you direct them to it.
It used to be easy to get to the top of google, I had an AOL homepage top of google. But they
changed things and it was how many sites linked to your site, then the formula changed again
and again...
Unless your spending lots of money advertising then your site is unlikely to attract visitors. You
need something to get them looking for your website.
How and why would i look for your site? (not asking for personal info but one question to ask yourself)
If your a business then I want your contact info to be clearly visible and not hidden in the small
print of some terms and conditions page.

I would recommend that you get your domain and hosting from different companies, so that it's easier to change things if you decide to move to a different provider.
Although £150 isn't a lot of money, you can get a domain and good hosting considerably cheaper than this. I use a company called namecheap.com, who have UK domains for around £6 a year and brixly.co.uk, who do basic site hosting for about £40 a year, so you can get a similar service to godaddy for under £50 a year.
Also if your needs are for a simple site that doesn't sell anything online, you don't need ecommerce hosting, which is designed for websites that are carrying out online selling.

You will need to have a think about what sort of website you would like. Do you just want a simple website with a couple of pages, that is easy to manage and not much to learn? Then maybe look at something like a Wix site. These sites use basic templates that you can edit.
If you want much more control over your website, but a bit more effort to learn and use, maybe look at something like Wordpress and find a theme you like on https://themeforest.net/1 -

I imagine that you just want something put up quicky, but this is not the way to go.
GoDaddy use a terrible proprietary web builder that cannot easily be exported to another platform when you are ready.
GoDaddy are way more expensive than the market and have a huge number of added extras.
GoDaddy sites do not rank for any keyword with decent numbers
I pay under $9 for a .com domain, I can get decent hosting for almost any budget, for what you are suggesting you do not need to spend that kind of money.

Don't go near them with a barge pole.
I use Guru.co.uk - pay £4.99 a month for WordPress hosting.1 -
Is your business on Facebook? Many small ones are, my greengrocer for instance, simple stuff of course but as you say you just want one page showcase just add some pictures & a few descriptive words, then maybe add onto your local area FB group if there is one
