Unfair parking fine

In September I parked at Sandy park , Exeter in a car park ran by PREMIER PARKING.
i payed money into the machine for 5 hours.
i came out and left quite happy.
i have now been issued with a letter from a legal recovery team asking for £140.
The state I have ignored the initial offence notification(by post), and the reminder, and the final notice.
There was no ticket put on the car and I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY LETTERS FROM THEM.
I except that people not wanting to pay the fine WOULD say they didn’t receive any corespondents.
But please believe that I received no letters at all and would have paid the fine after the first letter.
The principle here is that I was not informed and therefore this is unfair.
is this happening all the time I wonder.

Is the keeper's name and address correct on the vehicle's Registration Document (V5c)?
Please check. Don't guess.
