They just phone you. In my experience a producer calls you within an hour of the closure to give you a heads up and prep you for an interview, stressing you cannot swear.

Seems to be the thing with these now you have to answer when they call which will be within 1 hour of the competition closing (08:30 to 09:30)
"If an entrant fails to answer their phone, refuses to play, or if any fault occurs immediately prior to or during the call and it is not possible to re-establish contact with the entrant, they will forfeit their chance to win and another entrant will be selected at random"
