having been caught out my self with this matter for £11,000 ,i was sold alandrover discovery 3 which needed £5000 of repairs to engine after 8000 miles, the garage, and i use this word lightly, would not do any thing about it i went through the usual channels CIT /ADVISE, trading std, ombudsman, the point i am making is that there is no support or help from the loan company, you are on your own, this is not as far as i am aware mentioned at time of loan, should this be mentioned in amore prominent part of the contract?as iam still paying , for what is in, fact a scrap motor0

Personal loans don't include motoring repair bills or a breakdown service.
A loan contract will never include all the things that it doesn't cover, for all the products and services you may have used it to pay for. It would be endless.0 -
The bank aren’t responsible for the fact that you bought a lemon.0

You applied for the loan which you got, what you do with the money once its in your account is up to you, the lenders arent there to provide any help when the item you buy doesn't work.
You chose to buy said vehicle, how much due dilligence did you do before buying ?
Why have you posted again ?
The advice wont change.
Is the vehicle working?
Oh and you weren't ripped off.1 -
This is where hire purchase may have been a better idea.0

The loan company didn't sell you a car, they sold you a loan, which you chose to use the proceeds from to buy a car.steve003 said:having been caught out my self with this matter for £11,000 ,i was sold alandrover discovery 3 which needed £5000 of repairs to engine after 8000 miles, the garage, and i use this word lightly, would not do any thing about it i went through the usual channels CIT /ADVISE, trading std, ombudsman, the point i am making is that there is no support or help from the loan company, you are on your own, this is not as far as i am aware mentioned at time of loan, should this be mentioned in amore prominent part of the contract?as iam still paying , for what is in, fact a scrap motor
If the car is unfit it's up to you to raise this with the seller and take them to court if they aren't fulfilling their legal obligations.
If, however you had paid for the car at the retailer using a credit card, you'd have Section 75 protection from the credit card company.0
