Poll started 11 February 2020

It's Valentine's Day this Friday, so time for our traditional poll. Is it acceptable to use a 2for1 restaurant voucher on a first date? We've asked this in previous years – so let's see if attitudes have changed. (PS: Yes, we know splitting the bill is a valid option too, but that's a poll for another day…)

Imagine Sam asks Alex to dinner on a first date, offering to pay. When the bill comes, Sam whips out a 2for1 voucher – what advice would you give Alex?

If Sam is going to be a cheapskate but is still hoping to pull, she might want to consider paying the bill in private rather than under Alex nose. Unless they met on MSE in which case they're probably made for each other.

Alex gets a free dinner no matter how Sam pays and if didn't work out, Sam saved his money.

I would be impressed! Why pay full price if there is a voucher available?!
