Unexpected Letter from SLC :(

Hi there, I've just got a letter from the Student Loans Company that has surprised me a bit. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of this.
(I'm currently unemployed, living with parents, graduated from Uni this June.)
The letter is headed "Repayment of Income Contigent Loan" and tells me that the HM Revenue and Customs don't have my details and asks me to fill in lots of forms re. my current circumstances.
Fair enough, but they're also asking for evidence of how I am supporting myself financially at the moment. The only thing I can send them is my bank statements confirming that I have savings.
Has anyone heard of this before? It's taken me by surprise and I'm wary of giving out bank details so easily.

If you're unemployed, you're entitled to Jobseeker's Allowance; when you'veclaimed send confirmation you're receiving this to SLC and they'll leave you alone.
Mel.Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.

Thanks for your replies. I've printed out my ISA statement from online banking (don't get paper ones) -do you think this will be okay? I'm scared of the threats of fines etc if I get it wrong!!!
Not claiming jobseekers yet (got to go through interview process etc) and the SLC seem to want a reply asap :S -Thanks for suggestion though!!0
