Hi.
Hoping someone can offer some advice. We only use iPhones so cannot open the calculator and had to have some forms emailed. Partner left civil service in the summer, from what I understand they would have had 16 years classic and 4 years alpha and will be 54 next birthday.
I read from other posts classic was 1/80 of final salary a year and 3/80 lump sum. Classic can be taken now and alpha at 55. Does this sound correct so far.
So assuming this is correct and have worked from 17 less a few years opting out from serps to which they have a seperate pot. Would the percentage for the classic be reduced per year to 55 or 60 and the alpha taken at 55 reduced to 60 or 67.
Many thanks.

I can only speak to Alpha, which is payable from pension age, so for your partner would be 67.
You're right that it can be taken at 55. I got just over half the age 67 figure.
There is a big exercise going on which may put your partner back into the position they'd been if they'd not had to leave classic (assuming that's better than alpha for those years). Google fire brigade union court case - or look further down in this forum.0 -
Have completed the form for classic from April and for classic and alpha from jan 21. As never received the forecast from dwp or MYCsp. Also read up and mentioned the judicial review.0
