G24

Morning all. I’m helping a work colleague who revived a postal parking charge.

When I looked up G24 I saw them on the list of BPA members so felt sure that after using the one size fits all template that we’d get a POPLA code and I’d therefore be able to help him get the appeal allowed at POPLA.

Anyway in their appeal rejection, they’ve signposted to the IAS which confused me. I’ve had a look this morning and they appear on both the IPC and BPA members list, is it possible to be a member of both? And if so is it entirely up to them which independent appeal route they offer?

Thanks in advance

Your question is specifically answered in the NEWBIES thread.

What the keeper should do after an IPC rejection is also specifically covered in the NEWBIES.

You should get your colleague to read it thoroughly rather than you pass everything on second hand.

Your colleague should get pics of the site and signage as soon as possible. I believe G24 do take people to court. If that happens they should come back here for help.

What happened when your colleague complained to the landowner?
Where did the dastardly deed occur?
    Was the NTK PoFA compliant?

If your colleague wants further help they should start their own thread and provide more information, without revealing the driver's identity of course.

They haven't been BPA AOS members for over 5 years, having left to join the IPC AOS on 01/10/2014.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

They are IPC scum, so tell the colleague to keep all letters and not to ignore court papers, which does sometimes happen with G24 now, but we win!

Nice to see you posting again, bartos1976. As you help other people, are you up to speed with recent developments with our defences and WS/evidence, having read CEC16's thread about the Southampton case?
