Hive or boiler

I have Hive and what I think is a strange problem. When the boiler (2 years old) is set to go off at the end of the day the green light for heating on the hive receiver goes off and the boiler also goes off as intended but around one day in 10-14 the green light on Hive goes off but the boiler continues to be on. The hot water light on the receiver and boiler always behave normally.
The boiler had its annual service recently and the answer of the engineer when questioned about it was "I'd live with it!" I think this was code for he didn't wish to look.
I'm no expert on boilers and I can't think what it can be which only happens occasionally.
Any help welcome.
