Reclaiming payday loan how long to respond?

Hi, 7 weeks ago I submitted a complaint to a payday loan company about reclaiming interest and charges due to irresponsible lending. A week after my letter I emailed them asking them to confirm that they had recieved my complaint and they confirmed they had. Since then I haven't heard anything. How long do they usually take to respond?
Thanks.

If you sent via mail recorded delivery then you would have proof of delivery did you raise the complaint by email or post ? if post did you send recorded or get proof of postage ? i believe they have 8weeks to acknowledge your initial complaint.

As above, 8 weeks to receive a final response, after that you can escalate to the FOS.

  • Ok thanks. I sent the letter with a first class stamp. A week later I sent them an email asking if they recieved my complaint. I recieved an email back confirming that they had recieved my complaint. Hopefully I'll recieve a response in the next week then.

Always get proof of postage by sending via a post office and asking for it, Yes yo should hear shortly but like @sourcrates advises be prepared to escalate it to the financial ombudsman, who was the company ?

  • Ok thank. The company was QuickQuid.
  • I was just wondering, if they don't respond after 8 weeks should I immediately contact the FOS or should I give them a few more days? Also how long does it take for the FOS to look into it and for a resolutuon to be found? Thanks.
