I have dealt with a few insurance companies in the past. In many occasions they have tried to renew my insurance without me even ask them and sometimes in a very aggressive way.

Here is an example the text I receive from them.

"We are in the process of renewing your X insurance policy so you will benefit from continuous cover. Unless you have already paid, please ensure the card details we hold for you are correct and that you have sufficient funds to cover your renewal premium. Your policy number XXXXXX …..”

I used this insurance companies two years ago last year I used a different insurance company. So I did not get in touch with them for about a year

How do I avoid text, email like this to be sent to me in the future? I know I could easily call them but I do not want to spend time unnecessary.

What do I need to do to make sure that they have no chance to take money from my credit card using the detail they have got without me need to contact them ??

    Dont buy any insurance product.
  • When you take out insurance, say you do not want it to automatically renew and do not agree to them retaining your card details.

If doing it online there may be a tick box to opt out, or it may be in the T&C's that you have to call them.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Regarding automatically renewed I am fully aware about this. I do not remember I ever gave this instructionn.

Similarly, regarding keeping my card detail, I gave it to vendors with whom I deal a lot such as Amazon, Budget Airlines, Hotel Booking, etc, etc. But I do not remember I ever give persmission for an insuranc company.

So you have went through every single point of the t and c's to check you did not give the instruction to retain your card details? ( which they are entitled to do regardless, for purposes other than renewal).

Don't give them your real phone number, don't give them your real email address and cancel your credit/bank card.

    Your idea of aggressive is?
