I checked the filter when it was running and the lights were going on - it was whirring sound but it doesn't kick into that 'draining' sound if you know what I mean?
I think I am going to have to admit defeat and see if I can urgently find a second hand one around.
As you found things in the filter, it's a possibility that another thing has got past the filter to the pump & jammed it. Depending how practical you are you may be able to take the pump apart & clear it, the pumps easy to find, just follow the drain hose. It may be accessible through the back of the machine or from underneath. Pull the plug out before going inside!
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
I've done it, nothing else is coming out and the water is clear now. OK so are we talking about the pipe coming from the machine to the pipe in the wall?? If so how do I get it off to check, does it come off?
Put the end of the pipe normally fixed to the back of the machine into a bucket (have a second one handy) and try the drain programme. If that drains into the bucket the blockage is the wall pipe.
You might have to put some water into the drum to try it.
