Hello all,
I received a parking charge notice a while ago and came to the forums for advice, I have read many posts and the sticky threads to try to answer before posting but can't get what I am looking for...
Basically I parked on a chip shop car park for ten minutes to nip to a shop. I saw a sign on entrance to the car park which stated customer parking only; no signs on the entrance to the car park which had any terms or penalty charges.
I was planning to get cashback to buy some chips on my way back to the car. However, I saw someone in the window of the chip shop with their phone, it looked like they were taking pictures or a video of me and my children so I got in the car and drove off, I thought what a weirdo! I should have reported it to the police really.
A few days later I received a letter from PCN ADMIN CENTRE which states PARKING CHARGE NOTICE TO REGISTERED KEEPER. The reason for issue was left premises.
I went online and saw there was a photo taken of me by my car in the car park.
On the advice from the forums I have ignored the letter. I also went to the car park and had a look to see if I could find signs. I have taken pictures to prove there is not a sign at the entrance to the car park which violates the terms they have set out. I did notice upon this visit that there are some signs littered about the car park which I had not noticed when I parked up at the time.
I didn't contest this at the time as I know it can get messy and usually they take it as a form of admission, so I haven't responded.
I have received a further two emails from ZZPS, as well as texts and emails, I have no idea how one of my email accounts have been found as it isn't linked with my DVLA details?? I have not answered or responded to any of the contacts thus far.
Today I have received a letter from QDR Solicitors threatening it MAY mean looking to obtain a CCJ against me.
My question is; do I continue to ignore? Or should I attempt to attest the initial charge based on the time I spent there and the lack of signage on the car park entrance?

You're at debt collector stage so the place to go is the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 where it tells you exactly how to deal with debt collectors. On the advice from the forums I have ignored the letter.
Can you tell us which forum advised you to ignore the initial Notice to Keeper please?
Which parking firm is involved please, it's not PCN Admin Centre, they're just a back office function for generally incompetent PPCs, often struggling with the 3Rs!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Forgive me, I have spent a long time trying to find the answer to my question. Which part exactly do I re read? (That is for the first replier)
It is ALL PARKING SERVICES UK LTD that are the original company in question. I have looked at their shocking website but notice they are an approved operator of the BPA.
It was on this forum that I read to ignore. However, I had received the second letter only days after the first one arrived so didn't have much chance to reply to the initial one.
Can anyone actually advise my question? Should I continue to ignore, or attest it now it has got to this stage. I have the photos of the car park but cannot seem to upload them?
Many thanks0 -
You ignore debt collectors' letters as advised in posts numbers 2 and 4 and the stickies. You need to take ownership of this.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking CompaniesYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Where on this forum did it say to ignore a ticket? The Newbies thread specifically stated not to. The ignore advice is either from the time of the dinosaurs or needs correcting.0 -

It says all over the newbie thread to ignore the debt collector letters. Which is the stage i was at before coming to the foums.0 -

So the letter from the solicitors is still debt collection stage?
Apologies, I'm sure you're all fed up of the same rookie questions, but I am really confused who is who and what is legit or not... don't want to get stung and if I had appealed in time im sure I wouldn't be her but here I am!0 -
this forum does not allow the hosting of files , including redacted pictures
use imgur or tinypic to host your pictures and link them in your reply (stop assuming that you can upload files wherever you like on the net)
this site does not tell anyone to IGNORE a private pcn and hasnt done since march 2013, it recommends appealing the initial pcn, plus for BPA members to take it to POPLA as a second stage after the initial refusal , hence that NEWBIES thread you read
this forum does tell people to ignore debt collector letters but not an actual formal official LoC letter, plus not to IGNORE a court claim either
you are not at either of those 2 stages yet
you havent said when this occurred but I suspect that as debt collectors are involved , who have used a tracing agent to trace you , that its far too late for any appeal to be made, so there is nothing you can do but sit on your hands for 6 years , awaiting the 2 items I mentioned above
the DVLA not having your email address is irrelevant0 -

I see. Just to clarify you shouldn't ignore the initial ticket. It's a lot easier to deal with that. I have to put this in case any Newbies reading this thinks they should ignore initial tickets.0
