I’m not sure if he has the authority or not. He has implemented the change to save hours but I am contracted to 18 a week not 16 which is what it is after he has taken my hour breaks off.0

Still not clear, is this a proposal to change contracted hours rather than a new rest break policy?
Are you currently on 18 hours less 2 x 20mins unpaid? (-17 hrs 20 mins) or 18 hours all of which are paid?
If its 18 hours paid, but he wants you to take 2 x 1 hour unpaid, when is he proposing for you to do the other 2 hours paid? Or is he proposing changing your contracted hours down to 16 without consulting with unions or compensation?Originally Posted by shortcrust

Please answer the questions.
What does your contract and wage slip say - are you paid for 18 hours or 17 hrs 20 mins?
Is the proposal to change your contracted hours to 16 hours?
If they are not changing your pay, then you are quids in.
If they are changing your pay, are you prepared to take collective action with your colleagues to reject it?Originally Posted by shortcrust
