Have lost the spare car key. It is an old Ford Fiesta. Any idea of the cost to have another one cut it will need to be programmed afterwards. Do not want so spend a lot but getting a bit paranoid with only one sets of keys now

Some people use timpsons as they cut/program keys cheaper than a dealer.
Whereabouts in the UK are you as we may be able to suggest local places.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.0 -
Had one done for a FIAT and it was something like £200. Roughly the same for a Volvo. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I needed a spare key for my last two cars, cost me £100/£120 all included.0

A second key may increase the resale value of your car unless you do not sell your car until it is ready to be scrapped. I believe We Buy any Car base their quote on the car having a second key and will reduce their quote if the car has only one key.0

I paid about £100 to have a new key cut and programmed for a Focus which only came with one key from new.0

I used Timpsons last year for a spare for a 10 year old Toyota Aygo - I cant remember specifically the cost but I think it was around £30.
I asked if it was possible and for an idea of cost so he put my original key in a little machine that read the immobiliser and said there and then it was a straightforward job and what the cost would be. I left the key with him whilst I went round Sainsburys and then it was done when I had finished shopping.
Its not a 'blipper' version that opens the central locking remotely but it works fine as a manual key for opening doors and works fine starting the car. There might have been an option for a remote/button version but I just wanted the cheapest way to get a spare key as I bought the car with just the one.
Hope this helps0 -
Phone a Ford dealer, then phone a specialist key cutter.
Needed a key for my van once, didn't have one at all. Called around getting crazy prices. Then called a Renault dealer and they cut me one for £12 just from the registration and me showing my log book. For Renault that was a shock because their parts prices are horrendous normally.0
