Missed payment?

in Credit cards
My scenario :
Tesco credit card balance £300
Payment due 31st of each month
Saturday 31st August, payment due = £75 (minimum payment £25)
Sunday 1st September, I balance transferred £300 from Tesco to new Halifax credit card, then (perhaps a mistake) cancelled Direct Debit to Tesco from my Barclays current account
This morning, Monday 2nd September, 5am, I notice on my current account that £75 was taken but then returned unpaid. I immediately made a £25 payment to Tesco just in case.
£75 payment shows on Tesco online banking as paid on Sat 31/08/19 (but not as returned - yet)
Would you say I have therefore 'missed a payment'?
Thanks

I think it might go down as a late payment. Why did you cancel the DD? You could ring up Tesco, politely explain your mistake and ask them not to record a late payment on your account (as a goodwill gesture). I am assuming that this is the first time it has happened...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

I cancelled DD because the balance transfer was set up, but I didn't realise scheduled payment was still in progress. I should have just left it instated.
Have called Tesco and they say it should be fine, but if any charges are incurred they will refund.0
