Need some advice on what to do, Society clubs and Treasury account

Hello,

Currently been elected new treasurer of my universities boxing society. Its been a right nightmare trying to get the bank account current account holder changed. The former treasurer is back home 200 miles away and I cant get hold of the other person on the account! Seems to have gone AWOL. I have gotten the former treasurer to send me down his part of the signed forms, but I need the other person to sign the same form! Cant get hold of him!

Would it be possible to open up a new treasurer account relatively easy and then just transfer the money in the old account over?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Was he a former student at the University? If so, is there an Alumni Association that might provide an address/contact number?

Fairly easy to open up a new account but how would you transfer the money from the old account?
  • Have you checked that you can not change the name with authorisation of the board of the club or something. I am sure that was an option when I changed with RBS a couple of years ago.

    There are procedures for this.
Usually the bank want; copy of your constitution, minutes from the AGM showing who has been elected to the positions, filling in the correct form to state that you don't have previous signatories
