Contract of employment, assault and bullying at work

Hi,

Advice required, or a point in the direction of the best place to get advice for this.

Long story short(ish).

Husband works for a company in which he has been bullied from day 1. They seem to dislike men. Since he has been there the man in his role previously was put on 2 weeks sick with stress and then fired. The manager brought in after his manager left (also male) fell out with someone and was fired that day. Loads of sexist comments, he's blamed for everything, hordes of them gang up on him if he takes holiday and he ends up in a meeting about his behaviour when he gets back.

Finally a week ago one lady punched him in the arm. At the time he didn't want to do anything about it, but is now very cross.

He doesn't feel comfortable with going to HR as the lady in charge has lead some of these charges against him (personally, not as you'd expect from HR) and has expressed some very anti-male opinions very openly.

He has kept a record of this.

They have recently also tied him into a contract where he was given a pay-rise but on the proviso that he stays until 'x' date and if he doesn't they will take the pay-rise off his final salary.

I have been doing some Googling, but I could really do with some advice about what to do next, who would be best to approach for advice and any opinions from people with experience in employment law please.

Thank you.

    Hi,

Advice required, or a point in the direction of the best place to get advice for this.

    Long story short(ish).

Husband works for a company in which he has been bullied from day 1. They seem to dislike men. - why would they hire him if that was the case? Since he has been there the man in his role previously was put on 2 weeks sick with stress and then fired. The manager brought in after his manager left (also male) fell out with someone and was fired that day. Loads of sexist comments, he's blamed for everything, hordes of them gang up on him if he takes holiday and he ends up in a meeting about his behaviour when he gets back.

Finally a week ago one lady punched him in the arm. At the time he didn't want to do anything about it, but is now very cross. - police?

He doesn't feel comfortable with going to HR as the lady in charge has lead some of these charges against him (personally, not as you'd expect from HR) and has expressed some very anti-male opinions very openly. - Why would you go to HR? HR are there to literally make sure the company can sack you legally. JOIN A UNION if you wasn't support at work

He has kept a record of this.

They have recently also tied him into a contract where he was given a pay-rise but on the proviso that he stays until 'x' date and if he doesn't they will take the pay-rise off his final salary. - That seems reasonable. Cant dislike him that much if theyre increasing his pay!

I have been doing some Googling, but I could really do with some advice about what to do next, who would be best to approach for advice and any opinions from people with experience in employment law please.

    Thank you.

You don't go into detail with the sexist comments etc, so without that context it's impossible to say.

That said I think any gender discrimination claim would fail on the bases that he's getting a payrise
