Student Credit card

So I'm entering my 5th year at University, on a 6 year course, and I want to get a credit card (this will be my first one) to build up a good credit score. I will pay it off on time each month. I was wondering what (student) credit cards that would best suit me. Ideally I would like to take advantage of potential benefits for applying for one. Any thoughts?

Any card will do.

Try your own bank as a starter. Look to build good history by using it and clearing in full each month, but disregard any changes in your credit score.

Once you have some history behind you, you can apply for something better.

Any credit card will be fine, they all do the same thing.

If you find you are not eligible with your own bank then try the sub-prime range like Aqua, Vanquis and Cap1. Make sure you pay in full each month to avoid the interest charges. A direct debit is handy to ensure you don't miss the due date. (just make sure the funds are available whenever they are called for).
