Well I’ve written to all my creditors with an offer of what I can afford to pay. I’ve also spoken to Step Change. How likely are my creditors will accept my offer?Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0

That all depends.
Have all the accounts defaulted and with Debt Collection Agencies? (if yes, what are the default dates?)
What percentages have you offered?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

They are all up to date. But I can’t afford the minimum payments going forward.Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0

Offered roughly a third of what I should be paying. For my two loans I offered half and they were accepted. It’s my credit cards and next account.Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0

Got it. So you cannot afford your minimum contractual payments and are looking to come to some sort of arrangement to pay? Have you got temporary cashflow problems or is this a more deep-seated budgetary problem?
I think the best place to start from would be for us to look at your full financial statement. If you could complete an SOA (Statement of Affairs), and post it up here, then we can give appropriate advice, guidance and support.

Ok will do. It’s a big mess if I’m honest. It’s all caught up with me and I can’t afford the high rent on my property.Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0

I suggest you send your all your card accounts and your Next account holding letters. That way can stop paying them temporarily. That should give you a little breathing space.

Whatever you do, pay your rent. Do not skip rent payments. Your rent should be your priority.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Yes I’m paying my rent. I’ve offered my credit cards a monthly payment and I’m keeping my fingers crossed, thanks for your help.Current Debt £39,000 Aiming to be debt free in 4 years:T0
