Home insurance and ownership

I am in a panic and struggling to understand what I am reading when I am searching online.
I inherited a house from my partner last year ( not married )
I was executor. Probate obtained. Estate delt with .
I insured the house as an empty property in role of executor . I moved back to my own house . Couldn’t cope with staying there but I have struggled to decide if I want to keep it or sell.
Insurance due for renewal . I wanted to speak to them make sure it would be insured , went through all the questions before I was told they would not insure me because I was a new policy holder and the house was within 400 meters of water . Cancelled with immediate effect.
I had to scramble to get some kind of cover and have done at a price but they say they need me to prove I have the right to insure it
Does this mean I have to register it in my name ASAP ? I didn’t do it yet because I probably will sell but just had to deal with the emotional issues first .
Thank you

If you now own it, and your executor status has now ended then you obviously need to be registered as the owner

If the estate is still in the process of being settled and it 'owns' the property still then it should be insured in the name of 'Execs of [deceased person]'.

If you now own the property then it should be insured in your name. If there is anyone else with a financial interest in the property (family relative or mortgage for example) that should be declared to the insurer as well.

Ok . Thanks I will get onto registering it in my name tomorrow.
I know you can do it yourself but I am happy to pay a solicitor to do it but does that make the whole thing slower, like probate?
I have actually found it pretty difficult to decide when the whole probate process is over . Just a few days ago a refund cheque was received.
But then I am probably just stupid .
