Statutory Sick Pay help

Can anyone help me with an SSP query?
I get one calendar month of company sick pay which I have exhausted.
I work 22.5 hours a week but have been advised by my doctor to do a phased return following illness. I am currently working 16.5 hours per week - 5.5 hours a day instead of my usual 7.5. So I’m working 6 hours a week less than usual. This is going to continue for 8 weeks. I need to know whether SSP will cover the 6 hours a week I’m not working. For the record I will be working 5.5 hours on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday which are my contracted days instead of my usual 7.5 hours on these days. Thanks

I'd suggest you speak to your company and ask them. We return to full pay when someone is doing a phased return, but I recognise we may be particularly generous.Signature removed for peace of mind0

To be considered for SSP you need to have a period of four consecutive days when your are off sick ( or off during a phased return ) and no work is done. As you are going to be working on all of your qualifying days there will be no days on which SSP can be considered.
Afraid your only hope is as Savvy_Sue suggests and hopefully you have a generous employer.0
