One Parking Solution PCN

On holiday in Wales, we went for a drive on a very wet day hoping to find some sunshine. Giving it up we pulled off the road into a deserted car park to look at the map and plot the best way back to our accommodation.
Returning from our holiday, we received a PCN from One Parking Solution demanding £100 for the 14 minutes we sat on the car park.
We have consulted google maps, and in 2016 there was a sign by the entrance. No idea if it is there now. Weather conditions were so bad that if the same sign is still there it would have been unreadable.
They have CCTV images of us entering and leaving the car park, but at no time did we occupy a parking space or turn off the engine.
Our defence would be poor visibility of signs, but there's no way we can go back to Wales to get photos. We also would have been happy to pay for parking, and think £100 highly excessive!
Is there any point in appealing??

read the BPA CoP on grace periods , where 10 minutes is typically given

I doubt that they have CCTV pictures, highly unlikely

more likely to be pictures from an ANPR camera

the 14 minutes was time on site , to decide if to stay or leave , nothing to do with parking or having an engine running

signage plays an important part in any appeal, so without seeing the signs its impossible to say , not enough facts (no sight of the landowner agreement, no pictures of signs , etc)

read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, appeal as keeper if you are going to appeal it

the default tariff of £100 has been around for a decade, plus the BEAVIS case put paid to any idea of it being excessive , its considered a punishment for breaking the rules, with a 40% discount for early payment

all private car parks are monitored these days, so stick to the roads

Yes, as the NEWBIES thread tells you, as registered keeper. Please read the sticky.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
