NA 0% Cards on Credit Club

I have a 893/999 score and I have V good affordability in loans/CC according to the credit club...

However, I only see 2 cards under 0% cards - Barclay Card 10-60% and MBNA N/A

Why is it so low?

It's because your scores aren't used in lending.

You need to look at your three credit files to understand why you're considered higher risk. Could be existing debts, income, available credit, missed payments, associations, ER and so on.

Ever feel like you need to get this message on a cherry key to speed up responses?

The message must sink in soon about the difference between credit score and credit history/rating, i.e. fiction and fact.

I must admit, I was late coming to the party with that knowledge, however, that was probably five years ago now.

Monzo forum has the same questions and answers on it regularly.

Saw the Clearscore tv advert again yesterday where the bloke is telling his dog his checking his score. Even the dog thought he was wasting his time and put his head back down!

    Snoring

You could try one or more of the other comparison sites. They seem to throw up different results using the same information that you provide them.
I have to say that I would probably just pick the card I liked the look of as far as the offering, T&Cs go and apply regardless of what the comparison sites say, assuming, of course, there were no real nasties on my credit report.

Maybe the question should be "why is my score so high, as only 2 lenders show as offering 0%, one less that 50:50 and the other a lot lower than that"

OP, as ZX81 states check what's on your credit reports rather than the score, maybe you don't have any credit or only maxed out credit.

I have a poor credit rating score according to MSE Credit Club, but I still got accepted for a 0% balance transfer card recently.

From the credit card offer part of the website I could see, for essentially the same credit card product from different providers, my eligibility range from 0% to 70%. So clearly providers have very different scores for who they wish to give credit to, un-related to the credit rating agencies.

I checked before applying with eligibility checkers until I found one to pre-approve me.

And the card I got wasn't on any of the credit rating offer lists :)

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

I have a very poor rating, but my bank still have me a credit card, 9. something interest and just under £3k limit. I've also an outstanding CCJ (slowly being paid off), numerous historic defaults and historic pay day loans. Oh I'm also self managing a debt repayment plan for my historic debts.

Kinda shows what a farce the scores are really doesn't it?!

Look at the content of your report. What does it say under accounts? Do you have any accounts showing? Do you have any late payments? Defaults? Missed payments? CCJ? IVA? Bankruptcy? DRO?

Are you on the electoral roll?

Do you have any utility bills/mobile showing?

OP was after a 0% card, didn't mention couldn't get other cards only that 2 were showing under the 0% column. Think is OP has checked one comparison site, needs to check others as they may get different offers. Also check for all the things you mention. :)

    This is correct.

I had multiple offers from different sites. My favourite being TotallyMoney which had a lot more to offer.

Ended up going for a 100% deal on a 20month 0% card. Managed to get 4K which is great for my usage.

I already had previous credit, about 10K in credit I don't use, wanted to get a 0% one as it would be accepted more often than AMEX cashback cards and I wouldn't have to worry about it much.

There is nothing on my credit file apart from using more than 25% utilisation (student) and applying for 1 or 2 within past 6 months. Recently got a lot more credit so will not be using as much.

I was just surprised by how MSE Credit Club showed the fewest cards for me, but is often the most recommended site. Clearscore is completely crap for me, all the time.
  • If you want a card go direct to the lender and use their own eligibility checker.

Sites like MSE sand Clearscore are paid to show and promote certain lenders which is why there such a variance.
  • Which card is that you got?
