Transferring Car Insurance

Good evening,

So I have just been looking at cars and have actually gone and got one on finance.

I have insurance already on another car, if I want to go ahead and change cars... can my insurance refuse to accept the new car onto the policy?

Thanks,

Callum

Yes, your insurer is not bound to cover every model

Always check with your insurer that they are happy with your choice of replacement.

If not, then you need to add the cost of cancelling and losing NCD for the part year onto the cost involved in changing your car

    Yes of course they can.
As a business they can decide they don’t want to insure that particular model.

If you own 2 cars you need insurance for them both unless you make a SORN declaration.
