Coventry Easy access ISA online

If I open this isa online, is it possible to post a cheque straight away to fund product or do I have to wait for internet log in details to arrive by post? Reading comments people seem to have to wait quite a while to get internet access to account. I just want to make a one off payment.

How to put money into your account

Pay in cash or cheques in a branch
    Post us a cheque
Set up transfers from an account with another bank or building society, or another account with us
You can transfer in current and/or previous year's ISA savings using an ISA transfer. If you're transferring in your current years' savings, then you must transfer all of it. If you're transferring from another ISA with us please contact us.
    The minimum balance is £1

Sorry maybe didn't make myself clear. What I meant was, do you get an account number at the end of your application so you can fund with a cheque immediately rather than wait for internet access, or do you have to wait for welcome pack through the post before getting account number.

Can't help there- I opened mine by transfer and it was extremely quick - just a day or two.

    I already had internet access.

Why not just open the account and hold the cash elsewhere if necessary until you can fund the ISA?

I recall opening a ISA online a few months ago and made a Faster Payment immediately so obviously must have had the account details. It was around a week later I got the info for internet access and logged on and checked it was showing from the date I made payment.

So yes, I would think it likely you will be able to post your deposit cheque straight off.

    Thanks to both.
If it may help someone else, I applied for the account and at end of application was given my account number. I was then able to put cheque in the post (instructions given) and not have to wait for log in details to arrive.

I got the account number and sort code upon completing the application. Not that I'd risk transferring more than a token amount into an account for which I don't have login details.
