2nd Job Advice Needed

I currently work 35 hours a week Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. I've decided now that my kids are older and less reliant on me it would be a good idea to look for a second job working about 10-15 hours extra a week in the evenings or on the weekends.
I'm finding it really difficult to find the jobs that are available outside of my normal working hours as employers don't seem to specify hours to be worked on the job advert. Is there any on here who have a second job? How did you find job hunting? Are there any hints and tips for looking for a second job?
I have had a few interviews for our local supermarket but was up against younger people who had a much better availability than me, with it being my second job and they were just leaving school/college/uni so wasn't successful.
I have friends and family keep their eyes open for me. I have been doing regular job searches etc and subscribing to get updates etc.
Don't get me wrong I'm not looking for a job to just fall in my lap I'm willing to go out and look for one. I've never had a second job so just wanted a little advice.
Many thanks.

Look at services which are late night - care coordinators, bar / shop work etc.
Recruitment agencies can be good for this kind of thing0 -
Pretty confident youd get guaranteed hours as a carer 6-9 most evenings. Staff turnover is very high so there always jobs available too. Pay is low, and it can hard work physically and mentally but youll be providing a vital service for those who need it.0
