Aqua Classic card pay off?!

Good afternoon,

I have just got an aqua classic card to use for balance transfers to help my credit score increase.

I will obviously be using it to pay for the usual stuff like shopping, fuel etc. but does it matter if I transfer the money the same day to pay it off or should I pay it at the end of the month in full?

Thank you in advance :)
Kaye

You should wait until you receive a statement, and then pay it off in full.

The simplest method to pay the full balance is to set up a Direct Debit. The DD for month #1 is not always set up in time, so for the first months payment you may need to do that manually (by debit card or faster payment).

And welcome to the forum Kaye :)

Balance transfers? Have you got confused with terminology? Aqua don’t offer any 0% balance transfer deals, so quite why you’d want to move a balance over to them at 35% + APR is beyond me.

  • Eh?

What are you using the card for?

    To increase what?

When I had an Aqua card they did offer me a couple of balance transfer deals although I can't quite remember whether it was at a lower rate or 0%.

The promotional period was laughably short though, something like 6 months.

If you intend to use the card for purchases and repay in full each month, transferring a balance to it (assuming a 0% offer) would be foolish as you would be paying interest at the Aqua rate on your purchases which may well be higher than you were being charged on whatever balance you repaid.

Before attempting to say anything can you just confirm whether you are planning on transferring a balance from another credit card to your aqua card, or are you just planning on using the Aqua card to make purchases and nothing more?
