References after long term unemployment

I have been on the sick for a while and want to try and get back into work. I have been volunteering for a year or so but have experienced bullying and don't know if I want to use them for a reference, especially as they know I've been considering a complaint.

What are my options? I just want part time work to start with.

  • They still may accept your previous employer as a reference.

I wouldn’t necessarily not use the volunteering as a reference you could put the contact details of the head office.

There are also character references too.

It depends on who you go to work for.
