Can my employer force me to take annual leave whilst off sick during notice period?

Hello everyone I have asked around but can’t seem to find a definitive answer or links for information. I was wondering if I’m on sick leave when my employer dismisses me for ill health can they force me to take any unused holiday days through my notice period or can they not force me to do this because I’m on sick leave? Any information would be greatly appreciated thank you
