Neighbours using my address

I’ve recently discovered my neighbours X have been using my home address for a series of magazine subscriptions. When I approached the neighbours, they speculated it must be a mistake and belong to another neighbouring property and he took the magazine off me and offered to sort it out with this other property.
What I found odd was the name on the envelope was the same as neighbours X. The other property has overseas tenants and are most likely not holding the same surname as X.
There then followed six weeks of different weekly magazines all with the same name but our address. As neighbours X stated it wasn’t them I sent all mail back to sender.
Neighbours X are now ignoring us which I take as proof positive that I’d been lied to and the subscription magazines had been their all along. So rather than offer an explanation or an apology I’ve been treated like a troublemaker.
I’m very concerned someone else using my address could adversely impact on me eg electoral roll or be some kind of fraud goingnon.
Should I be concerned?
Thanks.

If it happens again, mark the envelopes as "Return to Sender: named person does not live at this address" and put it back in the post box?
The magazine company might figure out something's wrong if enough issues get returned to them.0 -
Totally guessing here but could they have used your address to take advantage of a 'new customer' offer having previously subscribed to it?0

When you do a "find address" through a postcode search, is yours the first one that comes up on the list - could be that they picked the wrong house number?2021 - mission declutter and clean - 0/20210

Just keep sending them back, after a few if they keep coming, just enjoy the free mags.0
