Do I need to inform my insurer if I will be living temporarily (for 1 month) in a different address, several hours away from my home address that the car is registered to?

Very much depends on the insurer and potential obligations on you which are contained within the policy.
I would recommend that you let them know, in order that you are seen to have fulfilled your obligations
Will give you peace of mind, particularly if you need to make a claim whilst at the temporary address.

I would call email and if they say it’s ok I would ask for that in writing/email.0
