Expiring Santander CC - Change or keep?

Been informed by Santander that my credit card will be renewed in a few months time, as the current card is close to expiry.
Status
Amex Platinum Everyday - ~£15k limit
Santander 123 CC - ~£5.5k limit
Both paid off in full each month. Predominately use Amex where possible and Santander as Mastercard as back up.
I also have a Monzo card, so I don't necessarily need the 0% foreign transaction fee.
I am mainly looking at cashback cards, as I don't use other types of reward cards enough.
Is it worth renewing the Santander All in One CC (0.5% cashback with £3 monthly fee) or asking them to close the account once the card expires and the final payment takes the balance to £0?
I would want a replacement CC as Amex isn't accepted everywhere, so would it make sense to go for Tandem (I believe its 0.5% cashback on all purchases)?
If changing is the best idea, would it be best applying for a new CC once this one expires or a few month before expiry?
Not sure if I am missing anything, but I am thinking it would be best to close the Santander card and get a Tandem card, unless anyone can think of a better idea?
I don't think would affect any of my personal credit history if I let my Santander CC expire naturally. Is this the case?
TIA

You don't need to wait for a card to expire before deciding if you want the account. It's just a means of paying for things.
An account won't expire 'naturally'. It will be marked as a closed account when it's closed.
If you only have two cards, I'd be surprised if closing either of them is a good idea. Certainly not until you have another few under your belt.0 -
When the card expires you will just be sent a new one.
It won't close the account.
There's no need to pay the £3 per month fee on a card - check out the other available cashback cards here:
