Car insurance when not named as registered keeper. Advice please

Hello all. I just wondered if anyone can offer any advice.
Presently we have two cars. Hubby and i are named as registered keepers on the ones we each use on a day to day basis. Insurance tax etc is in the names of the main user.
We are getting a new to us car. My car is going and i will now be driving hubbys car as my main car and he will use the new to us one. This means im driving a car registered to him. Im a named driver on it at the moment but not sure if thats fully comp or third party. I will need to check.
Do we need to swap names on the registered keepers dvla forms or can he technically own the car but me be the one who has insurance in her own name pays the tax etc. I need business insurance and drive daily so i would prefer to be main driver with fully comp business insurance. Can i buy my own insurance if hes registered keeper? Will if affect quotes? He will have to get new insurance anyway and ill have to cancel mine for the car thats going. Im just trying to figure out whether we need to swap ownership as well for the car that we are still keeping.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading.

My now ex and I just used to chop and change the insurance, never bothered changing the log books.
Insurance companies ask who the owner is and you just say husband or wife as appropriate.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Most insurers allow spouses to insure vehicles owned by their spouse.
Alternatively you can usually be the main driver of a car where you are a named driver on the owners policy0 -
Thanks everyone. I was getting confused about who cancels and restarts what. We can both just ring and swap over by the sounds of it which is much easier. XJan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - March 25 13.9 k
