Hi,

Are there any banks which are not linked or under the umbrella of Santander /RBS with regards to making an application for a mortgage.

Thanks

    There are loads...
unfortunately as a broker I’m not allowed to name lenders on here, but google will tell you which lenders are under each of the groups and basically the rest are not...

Oh Okay thanks, I had a look but it kind of confused me.

Was thinking of trying Virgin Money but I am unsure if they will be the right direction.

You may be better off either posting more details of your circumstances so the wise people of this board can give you ideas or consulting a broker who will know which lenders to approach for you.

RBS and Santander are not connected.
RBS and NatWest are the same group.
Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland are the same
    TSB is separate

If I was going to try and make an uneducated guess I would guess this is being asked due to already having previous applications refused and you're now on the hunt for someone else to apply with who hasn't already got a record of your previous no?

If thats the case then would it not make sense to employ the services of a broker who will be better placed to make an application for you and get you the yes your current scatter gun approach hasn't managed?

If i'm wrong though then ignore me :D:beer:

In 2017, I did a mortgage for a customer with Natwest. 2 weeks prior he had been declined by Natwest with another broker... He had also been declined by an adverse lender with the other broker.
